Not far from the company headquarters of the Boker manufacture in Solingen, we find the hallmark of the Bergisches Land region: the Castle Burg an der Wupper. It is one of the largest castles in western Germany. and the largest reconstructed castle in North Rhine-Westphalia. The famous history of Castle Burg is inseparably linked to the Duchy Berg and the Counts von Berg (Haus Berg 1068-1225). On this occasion, we decided to dedicate a series of Straight Razors to the three Counts von Berg; symbolizing parts of the each of their lives, and reminding us of their remarkable influence with impressive ornamentations made from 24 Carat Gold.

This extraordinary 6/8 inch French Point Straight Razor symbolizes the death of Adolf III Count von Berg during the fifth crusade in Egypt. The end of the polished blade is lined by a French head, which boldly spotlights the special elegance of this razor. Hand-picked stag scales with additional decorative studs, an elaborate grind of the blade back, and the impressive partial gilding (24 carat) are just a few of the distinct features presented in this triumph of a razor. The blade is ground extra hollow with ridge. Delivered in a refined presentation display, each razor includes a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number.

Please allow a minimum of at least 3-4 business days for us to prepare your Straight Razor, as this is not a product that you buy just anywhere. It needs special attention to detail as it will come in contact with your skin, and must be sanitized and polished before being coated with Renaissance Wax. Note: When you receive the razor for the first time, carefully take it out of the box and remove the oil with a piece of tissue. The razor has already been stropped and it completely “Shave Ready”, so go ahead and shave! You will get 2 shaves before needing to strop (depending on how aggressive your beard growth is. Each time you have used your razor, rinse the blade with hot tap water. Carefully and thoroughly dry the blade and in between the scales with a piece of tissue paper before you close it. We recommend to oil your razor after every use. To maintain a sharp cutting edge, strop regularly prior to shaving.
